Volunteering
WHAT’S IN IT FOR US? The Park County Crisis Center currently has only one full-time paid staff person. Volunteers are necessary to help keep the organization running. Volunteers donate an average of 200 hours per month to help out in the office, answer the crisis line “after hours,” help raise money from the community, and much more! The bottom line is that without volunteers we would not be able to continue serving people in crisis in our community. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? Volunteering can be a valuable experience in many ways. In addition to free trainings and a reference, you will:
WHAT CAN I DO AS A VOLUNTEER?
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT? We realize that volunteers have lives outside of the Crisis Center. For that reason we are flexible and will work around your schedule and the time you are able to give. We only ask that new volunteers commit to one year of service with the organization. WHAT ABOUT TRAINING? All trainings are free!!! All volunteers are required to go through a 20-hour training course on the fundamentals of domestic violence. Volunteers receive continuing training through monthly in-services. Client Support volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend monthly in-services and are required to attend the quarterly crisis line training at least once before answering the crisis line. Volunteers also receive regular announcements about other valuable trainings they may attend. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? If you’re interested in joining our volunteer team, contact us today!
